When you first get to look at this picture, you are struck by the sharpness of the bird, perfectly emphasized by the softly colored background.
There is also a goos sense of composition given that the puffin is a bit on the right of the picture, looking left.
All this makes us focus on the black eye. It is not only focused on by the place it occupies on the picture, but it is intersting to notice that this animal naturally has a mostly white face, reiforcing that feeling on centrality.
On a technical point of view, I think it is pretty good. An excellent telephoto lens helps a bit, but the light is very well calculated.
So, overall it remains not truly original, but a very nice picture anyway.
